With bonfire night out of the way and all the light switch on’s completed it’s definitely safe to mention the ‘C’ word! After all it is just over a month away… I don’t know about you but there’s so much to look forward to in the lead up to Christmas! Shopping, decorations (check out my post from last year) and of course not Christmas just wouldn’t be the same without the parties! I’ve teamed up with Slaters to bring you my picks for a Christmas party outfit.
Selecting an outfit for your work’s Christmas party is no easy task! Is it casual, smart casual, business casual, smart. I remember a Christmas party I went to one year which was strictly black tie… I just didn’t feel comfortable in a dinner suit and couldn’t wait to take the bow tie off! As an outfit it just wasn’t really me, luckily I’ve never had to wear black tie again!
For me, comfort and how you feel in the outfit is key. Christmas party season can be a chilly time of the year so its a good idea to layer up where you can. For the look I wanted something that was relatively smart but also had a casual feel.
A blazer and waistcoat combination seemed the perfect fit for a smart casual outfit. Just like this tailored fit Broadstone bros twin piece. I love the navy blue velvet detail on the collar, gives it a luxury feel. The guys at Slaters made sure the fit is perfect and they even offer free alterations on clothing that are done in store.
The light blue patterned shirt by Guide contrasts really well with the darker navy blazer and waistcoat and dark blue jeans by Ben Sherman. To complete this look, I selected a pair of Ted Baker tan lace up brogue boots which I think you’ll agree look very dapper and compliment the blues in the outfit really well.
Blazer/waistcoat: Broadstone Bros
Shirt: Guide London
Jeans: Ben Sherman
Boots: Ted Baker brogues
Leather bracelet: Under the rose
No look is complete without some accessories right? A leather strap watch is a must and this leather braided bracelet from under the rose adds a bit of subtle personality to the outfit.
If you’re looking for an outfit for this Christmas party season, make sure you check out Slaters they’ve got something for all occasions, styles and tastes and you’ll get a very personal service if you visit them in store. I can’t wait until the Christmas party season begins so I can wear this outfit.
