Everyone has their go to or signature scent that friends and family recognise them by! For me, that could be a few! You might have seen my last fragrance review? I do by my own admission have quite a big selection of fragrances… I just like to have a wide variety! Paco Rabanne have just released a brand scent just in time for summer!
The new Pure XS is a fresh, vibrant and oriental fragrance. It’s a refreshed version of the original XS which was first launched back in 1993… A story of Created by perfumers Anne Flipo and Caroline Dumur, the challenge was to convey a sensation of skin shivering with desire and burning with pleasure.
The look and feel of the packaging and bottle is very luxuriously sensual, the velvet look of the box gives it a high end feel and that bottle… well just look it! How good does it look? Especially the electric blue and gold!
The scent bursts open with top notes of ginger, thyme and green accord
Heart notes of leather, vanilla and cinnamon
Woody base notes of cedar wood, myrrh and sugar
It’s a clean and fresh smelling fragrance, but rather subtle! It is quite a busy scent, I’m not entirely convinced all the notes combine in harmony.
I do love the design of the bottle, the snap shut lid is intended to mimic a traditional cult lighter! But because of the size of the bottle and snap shut lid, it is a bit clumsy to use! Spraying of the fragrance can be a little bit tricky, especially if you don’t have the nozzle pointing in the right direction!
The projection of the scent is fairly moderate, after all it is quite a subtle smelling fragrance. The longevity isn’t as good as some of the other scents in the Paco Rabanne range. It does start to fade within 2-3 hours so you might need top up during the day!
For me, this is a fragrance that’s ideal for summer and would suit most occasions, whether its evenings/nights out or even daytime wear! Pure XS is available to buy now from Beauty Base in 50ml and 100ml versions priced £47 and £64.60
Have you tried Pure XS or any of the other Paco Rabanne fragrances?
