Multipower Whey Isolate Protein

When it comes to my gym regime, my biggest downfall has to be my diet! Half the battle of getting  I do like my food, especially anything that’s bad for you… well who doesn’t?! One thing I don’t get enough of in my diet is protein! Everyone knows how important protein is in a diet if your planning to build muscle. I was recently asked if I’d like to try out some Multipower products, which was a new brand to me!

Multipower Whey Isolate Protein

100% pure whey isolate protein

A lot of protein powders are often high in calories, carbohydrates and fat, which is not what you want if you want to build muscle! Whey isolate is the purest form of protein and is low in calories, sugar and fat. its ideal for use straight after a hard work out at the gym when your muscles are in need of nutrients and repair. To be classed as a good whey protein, it must have list whey protein isolate as its first ingredient.

As you would expect, it does list whey isolate as its first ingredient, being an impressive 94% (not quite the 100% it claims though!) This type of protein is pre digested into smaller fragments to help give even faster absorption.

Multipower Whey Isolate Protein

I found this protein to mix really well in the shaker bottle and it didn’t leave any lumps or bits! For each shake, just add 3 small scoops with 200ml water. This gives a very decent 26g protein and containing only 111 calories. I’ve got to say this is one of the the best tasting chocolate flavour proteins I’ve tried! As you might expect such pure protein doesn’t come cheap! This 725g tub costs £42.80 but there is currently a buy one get one free offer on… so if you want to snap up a bargain, be quick! It’s also gluten free and suitable for vegetarians!

Protein bars

If like me, you like a protein based snack whilst at work, on the move or even after the gym, Multipower have a range of 40% and also 53% protein bars, packing 14g and 27g of protein into each bar respectively.

Multipower Protein bars

The 53% bar comes in chocolate, berry yoghurt, coconut and  cookies and cream flavour and the 40% bar comes in 3 flavours, peach yoghurt, blue vanilla and chocolate almond. For me personally, they’re not the greatest tasting bars in the world, but what do you expect for a product that is practically sugar free? I did find there is a bit of a funny after taste once you’ve eaten them… not sure if this is usual for protein bars? I think the fact I have quite a sweet tooth doesn’t help, you get used to the flavour the more bars you have, my favourite being cookies and cream!

Multipower Protein bars

The 40% bar has less than 1g of sugar and only contains 135 calories, the 53% bar is as you’d expect slighter higher, 1.8g of sugar and 200 calories. These bars offer the benefits of fast acting whey protein isolate and also slow release proteins, calcium casseinate. What’s more they’re also a good source of fibre if you don’t quite get enough in your diet!
