I don’t know about you, but I do like my gadgets, especially when it comes to male grooming! I have quite a few different beard trimmers but when I saw this in a for under £50 in membership only store, I just had to get it!
Who are Wahl?
Chances you’ll of heard of Wahl, but if you haven’t, then why not? They are probably the no. 1 choice in grooming products for barbers around the world. So if anyone is to know how to make the ideal grooming tool it’s these guys!
What’s in the 4-in-1 grooming station?
As you might of guessed, its 4 different tools in 1; T-blade trimmer ideal for facial and body, Detail trimmer, Hygienic trimmer and Foiler shaver for that closer shave. It’s powered by a lithium ion battery provides twice the power, giving up to 4 hours run time! It includes 12 different combs for all possible lengths. Also included is a handy storage/travel pouch, cleaning brush, blade oil, beard and moustache comb and charger.
Although compact in size, the first thing that struck me about the trimmer is it’s weight. It’s a lot heavier than my other beard trimmer I own, this can only be down to the powerful lithium ion-battery. I do like it’s chic brushed stainless steel finish, it gives it a quality feel and look.
How does it perform?
One of the reasons I was drawn to the the Wahl 4-in-1 was the closeness of cut, making it ideal for trimming my cheek and neck line. I tend not to use traditional razors as they can cause skin irritation. For me, a close cutting beard trimmer is the ideal alternative. I found the T-blade with no comb on cuts nearly as close as the Phillips Oneblade. The T-blade is also perfect for trimming unwanted body hair.
Charging takes 60 minutes and will give 4 hours use. For me personally, each shave would be around 2-3 minutes so this is a huge amount of time on just one charge! If you’re in a hurry, a 60 second charge will give 3 minutes of power.
Changing between different heads is relatively easy, the heads just snap in and out of the trimmer body. The detail trimmer is perfect for those areas where you need a bit more accuracy and control. If a really close shave is what you’re after just load up the foil shaver head, you’ll get a close shave similar to a traditional razor. The only downside I found sometimes that turning the the trimmer off can be a bit hit and miss, depending how firmly you press the button.
If you’re looking for an old round multi-groomer the Wahl 4-in-1 grooming station could be just what you need. Check out Wahl for more information or details of stockists.
