6 must visit places in Jersey

You might have seen my recent hotel review  following my trip to one of the Channel Islands, Jersey. I thought I’d share a separate post on some of the things to do and places and attractions to see in Jersey.

We were staying at a time when not many of the attractions were open, we had one eye on the war tunnels but that along with most of the other attractions seemed to be open towards the end of March.

Elizabeth Castle is definitely worth a trip, it dates back to the 16th century, you can either get there by boat or if the tide is low you can walk across to it!

Take a walk round any of the 3 marina’s to see how the other half live and dream about owning one of the many super yachts and cruisers!

Jersey war tunnels

An attraction that opens towards the end of March, unfortunately for us, it was closed whilst we were there. The war tunnels gives an insight into islander life during the second world war when it was invaded by German forces.

Liberation Square

The sculpture was built to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the Island in 1945. It has a central prominent position to the harbour and town centre, worth visiting after the war tunnels.

Saint Helier

No trip to Jersey would be complete without a trip to the capital, Saint Helier where you can relax and soak up the atmosphere in the many bars and restaurants after a busy day’s exploring the sites.

Indoor market

The Victorian indoor market is worth a look round for it’s impressive architecture and brightly coloured fruit and flower stalls where you can buy locally grown produce.

There are lots of other places of interest and attractions to see in Jersey, if only we’d of had more time to see some of the others! I’d love to hear from you if you’ve been to Jersey and have any recommendations of places to to go. Let me know in the comments box below.
