Recently I’ve got more into gin; after being invited to a gin tasting night a few months back and then trying probably the best Rhubarb gin I’ve ever tasted on a recent trip to Scotland. So when I heard about Gin Explorer, I just had to find out more!
Gin Explorer is a monthly subscription box containing everything a gin lover could want! I received the February edition of the box which included:
- 4 double gins (50ml)
- 2 Blue tonic waters
- Tasting notes
The 4 different gins in the box were:
- Addingham cranberry & orange gin
- Mahon gin
- Norwich dry gin
- English hedge rose gin
My favourite of the 4 different gins was the sweeter cranberry and orange gin. The nordic blue tonic water that has a hint of grapefruit paired well with the fruity gin. For me personally, the Mahon gin and Norwich dry gin were a tad too dry. The hazelnut praline chocolates were a nice welcome edition and each month you get a different treat.
The cost of a one off Gin Explorer box is £24.99, which I do think is expensive, after all you are only getting 4 gin and tonics! You do get the convenience of the box being delivered direct to you’re door. Other options are available; 3 months for £69.99 and 12 months £279.99, which only saves you £2 per box than if you were to buy them individually.
