I do love new and innovative grooming products, so I was really pleased when the brand new Garnier Pure Active 3-in-1 charcoal anti-blackhead landed on my door mat recently, I couldn’t wait to see what it was like and how it would perform with my skin type.
The Pure Active Intensive range offers every day solutions for oily spot prone skin. Now I don’t have either of those skin types, but I do get the odd breakout every now and then.. a bit more so recently (you might of seen my tweets)! I also get blackheads which is why I was intrigued! The Pure Active range is formulated with blueberry extract known for its anti-oxidants and charcoal for it’s detoxifying properties.
The 3-in-1 Charcoal Anti-blackhead can be used as a face wash, to remove dirt and impurities, a scrub as it contains exfoliating particles to unclog pores or use as a mask to reduce the look of shine and leave your skin feeling smooth. It’s hard to use separately as a face wash without using as a scrub too because of the exfoliating beads.
Because of the charcoal in the formula, it can be a bit stubborn and does take a bit of extra washing off than with other face washes and scrubs. After using it. it did make my skin feel smoother and softer, but the blackheads still remained. The matifying affect did reduce the shine around the area of the black heads, although, I’m yet to find a scrub that will actually shift black heads!

The Intensive triple action moisturiser is specially formulated to target the signs of oily spot prone skin. Although I don’t have oily or spot prone skin, (well most of the time anyway)! it works well as a matifying moisturiser, so will help to reduce any excess oil buildup. It has a super concentrated formula so you really don’t need to use that much.
If you have oily or spot prone skin, the Garnier pure active intensive range is definitely worth giving a go. The Pure active range is available to buy online or in Boots stores.
