Were you lucky enough to receive a new fragrance as a gift this Christmas? Sadly, Santa didn’t bring me one on Christmas day (sobs)! Maybe because I have enough… not likely, a man can never have enough fragrances, right?! If you weren’t lucky enough to receive a new one, but are on the look out for something new, I might have just the scent for you!
Armani have a very impressive range when it comes fragrances. In 2016, they’ve added Code Profumo, the very latest to the Code range. The ever popular seductive and sophisticated scent of the original now has a new intensity, created by perfumer Antoine Maisondieu, one co-creators of the original Code.
The scent opens with citrusy top notes of green mandarin, cardamon and green apple
It has heart notes of lavender, orange blossom and nutmeg
The base notes include leather, amber, styrax and tonka bean
All the notes combine well to create an alluring oriental and woody scent. As with the original version, the sweetness of the tonka bean does stand out, along with the richness of the amber. For me, Code Profumo is more spicy and seductive scent that it’s original counterpart.
The look and feel of the bottle is very luxurious, the black belt at the top of the bottle is inspired by the Armani Tuxedo Cummerbund, the whole thing just feels so sophisticated! I particularly like the warmth of the coppery tones used in the elegantly shaped bottle and cap. The copper colour pairs really well with the vibrancy of the fragrance itself, being the perfect colour for Autumn/winter.
For me, this is a really nice warming fragrance, making it well suited for the colder months. The longevity is very good, lasting for almost the best part of a day. And it’s certainly been a hit with the girlfriend and of course myself! I’d say its an ideal fragrance for evening wear. It’s available to buy from Boots priced £62 for the 60ml version.
