Bluebeards Revenge Products Review

We’re edging closer to a new year, and into 2017. Have you made any new years resolutions yet? Are you looking for a new men’s grooming range of products? If so, I have a range of products from Blue Beards Revenge which you might be interested in. When a brand makes such a bold statement as “the manliest of grooming products for real men made by real men” I must test this claim!

I’m sure most of you guys will have heard of Blue Beards Revenge? They offer a huge range of products that will answer most of your grooming needs. Their range includes beard oils and moustache wax, hair and body products, fragrances, shaving products and even a range of accessories. They’ve really got all angles covered! I was recently sent some products in their hair and body range to test and review.

Let’s just mention the branding of the products, what could be more masculine than a skull and crossbones? The bold colours and lettering are quite eye catching and would certainly stand out amongst other products. It’s good the products include directions for use as I’ve sometimes seen none included on some ranges. I also like the humour used on the bottles and packaging

Body Wash

The body wash is quite concentrated, which means you only need a small amount. I thought it lathered up well, to create a nice foamy wash product. I found that it cuts through any any daily grime quite easily. It’s on the high side for a body wash at £9.99, but because of the concentrated nature, it should last you a long time. The fragrance is masculine and fresh smelling, but for me, the scent isn’t quite as good as some other leading ranges.

The Blue Beards Revenge shampoo contains Keratin which is intended to help repair damage and make hair look healthier. Also priced at £9.99, this 250ml bottle should last months (if you’ve got short hair like me)! The shampoo lathers up reasonably well and removes any dirt and grime or remaining hair product easily. It left my hair feeling clean and soft.

Matt Clay

You might have seen from my previous posts, I often alternate between types of hair products I use. I found the matt clay, also priced £9.99 gives a light but effective hold. Its quite surprising how little of the product you actually need. I did find it lost its hold slightly towards the end of a day. But on the whole, it’s a good product. I’d say this is a suitable product for shorter, choppy hair styles.

Its actually really sad because ive tried these products and they are really good im just so strongly against the marketing they use the patronising and sexist tones just make me want to avoid it so much i just cant support a brand like that

Think the range is average at best outside of their shaving products.

Their traditional shaving kit is excellent, and for someone starting out looking for a quality double or straight edged razor, these are good quality items. Their entry level Schimitar razor is made by Edwin Jagger, and is essentially a rebranded DE89, a very forgiving razor, ideal for honing your technique with. They also offer a Straight by Bowker, which oozes quality and tradition.

In my opinion their best product is the Best Badger shaving brush, made by Vulfix. For around £50 you’ll struggle to get a better value brush with quality, non-shedding bristles and packed into a premium knot as you would expect from this brush manufacturer.

The hair and beard products are acceptable for the price point, but don’t expect too much from them. For me there are better brands out there offering a more premium product, quality performance, better scents and packaging for a few quid more.
