Black & White Lite Formula Hairdressing Pomade review

I have tried many different types of hair products including gels, creams, clays and pomades. However, I’m still searching for the ultimate hair product for my hair style; skin fade quiffed comb over, which will keep my hair in shape. I spend quite a bit of time blow drying my hair, to create volume and to get it relatively straight hair ready for finishing.

Hair Pomade seems to be an ideal product when your looking for something between wax/gel and clay. It gives you subtle shine, unlike gel that gives a glossy, wet look and clay products which provide a more matt finish. The Lite version of Black & White pomade, for me gives a more subtle hold than its sister product, Black & White original. This version is a thinner consistency than that of the Original, which creates a lighter hold. When you open Black & White Lite hairdressing pomade 100ml (£3.65 from Fragrance Direct) you are greeted by a feint scent of beeswax, with a hint of coconut.

The product suggests that you should work a little into your hair from the roots to the ends with your fingertips. Although, I think hair products should be worked into hair relatively lightly. I’ve found with this pomade that a little really does go a long way. I use just over a pea sized amount, which I find is ample for my hair style. Because of the thinner nature of the lite version, the hold factor isn’t as good at the original. By the end of the day, my hair has lost its shape and style. For this reason, I have to say, I do prefer the Black & White original pomade to the lite formula. However both the original and lite version contain coconut oil, which is great for both skin and hair. Overall, I think this is a good value hair pomade that offers light hold for most hair types.

I too prefer Black & White original pomade over their lite formula. However, the shine you get with Black & White Lite is out of this world (on par with Royal Crown)!
